The popular Sunforgettable SPF 30 brush from Colorescience Pro has been awarded the Skin Cancer Foundation’s new “Active” Seal of Recommendation. To qualify for the distinction, the product underwent a rigorous review by an independent committee of photobiologists, according to the company.
The Seal is granted to products meeting The Skin Cancer Foundation’s stringent criteria for effective UV sun protection products. The criteria encompass new UVA protection standards and categorization of sunscreens based on intended use.The “Active” designation is for products that protect consumers from extended sun exposure during recreational activities such as outdoor sports and are very water resistant—as opposed to the “daily” designation, which is for intermittent sun protection and is typically under an SPF 30.
Sunforgettable SPF 30 debuted as the first powder sunscreen in 2005.It relies on the reflective and refractive properties of micronized titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
