The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) today welcomed 16 new member companies looking to enhance and grow their businesses as part of the only U.S.-based trade association representing the specialty chemical industry. The new members were approved by SOCMA’s Board of Governors at an April 29, 2014, meeting in Washington, D.C.
“We are excited to have such a diverse group of new members, including U.S. and international chemical manufacturers, distributors and service providers within the specialty industry,” said Chuck Hinton, president of Ethox Chemicals and chairman of SOCMA’s Membership Committee. “Today, with economic uncertainty and greater focus on environmental safety (EHS&S), companies look to their trade association for assistance in navigating these challenges. As SOCMA members, they have access to our Marketplace & Chemical Services Directory, a networking tool that’s helped many members increase their competitiveness during tough economic times; ChemStewards, our flagship EHS&S program; numerous products and services; and a staff of experts who advocate on behalf of our unique industry.”
Affiliated companies Royal Chemical Company, DeForest Enterprises, Inc., and Innoleo, LLC, are already reaping benefits as SOCMA members.
“Our group is following SOCMA’s lead in environmental and chemical stewardship as part of ChemStewards, and we are excited to be part of a collective voice on Capitol Hill, advocating for key issues impacting our industry,” said Jeff Edwards, president of DeForest Enterprises and Innoleo. “We enjoy networking with fellow members who share similar goals and concerns, and we know our companies will benefit on many fronts through our SOCMA affiliation.”
