On Friday, a New Jersey judge tossed ut suits filed in New Jersey by two women alleging Johnson & Johnson’s talc-based products caused them to develop ovarian cancer. The cases, filed in Superior Court of New Jersey in Atlantic City, were dismissed after the judge said experts didn’t produce sufficient medical evidence showing the product caused cancer.
J&J remains bogged down in a similar trial in state court in St. Louis, and the New Brunswick, NJ-based pharma and personal care company was also ordered the company to pay $72 million and $55 million in damages earlier this year in similar cases.
