Pilot Chemical Corp., through its subsidiary Mason Chemical Company, announces a new addition to its Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered quaternary compounds product line: Maquat Spray Wipe Spray (SWS) Detergent Sanitizer.
Maquat SWS Detergent Sanitizer is equal parts nonfood-contact surface sanitizer and a no-rinse detergent sanitizer for food-contact surfaces. When used to pre-clean and sanitize food-contact surfaces, a separate rinse step is not required between pre-cleaning and sanitizing.
The new product is effective as a food-contact sanitizer at one minute and a nonfood-contact one-step sanitizer at four minutes. It eliminates 99.999% of bacteria found on hard, nonporous food-contact surfaces.
A typical sanitizer for food-contact surfaces would require a rinse with potable water after the cleaning step and prior to the sanitization step. Maquat SWS Detergent Sanitizer eliminates the potable water rinse between cleaning and sanitization, thus reflecting the Spray, Wipe, Spray in the product’s name.
“This formula is going to be a real game-changer for our customers,” said Richard Rehg, vice president of commercial for Pilot Chemical Corp. “The importance of following label instructions can’t be overstated. Used correctly, Maquat SWS Detergent Sanitizer reduces overall cleaning time and can help our customers increase productivity and reduce labor costs.”
Maquat SWS Detergent Sanitizer is available for supplemental registration and is well-suited for use in a variety of facilities, institutions and businesses, including: restaurants, bars, institutional kitchens, fast food operations, cafeterias and food establishments; businesses, office buildings and hotels; commercial sites, industrial sites, institutional facilities and public places; bathrooms, restrooms, showers and bath areas; breweries and bottle-washing facilities; dairy and poultry farms; meat and poultry plants; and food-handling and processing areas and food-processing plants.
