In honor of World Water Day, Giorgio Armani is on a mission to provide clean drinking water through his Acqua for Life initiative.
From March 11 through March 22, 100% of profits from full size Acqua di Gio and Acqua di Gioia bottles on the official website will be donated to Giorgio Armani’s Acqua for Life initiative, offering consumers an opportunity to make a difference with a purchase that matters.
“Water is perhaps the element that I feel closest to,” said Armani in a statement. “For me, water represents life and regeneration, but also calmness and serenity. Access to clean water is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges in the 21st century.”
Acqua for Life was born 12 years ago from a philosophy as simple as it is fundamental: water is one of the most important elements to life. To date, Acqua for Life has invested over $11 million in water projects worldwide, funding 530 water supply systems that have helped over 390,000 people in 20 countries across three continents gain access to safe water. Acqua for Life partners with three main organizations worldwide, Unicef, WaterAid, and Water.org to fight the global water crisis.
Access to clean water continues to be a growing global concern. Two billion people – one in four – lack access to safe drinking water and two in five people (3.6 billion) lack safe sanitation altogether.
