Famille C Participations—the investment arm of the Courtin-Clarins family—has increased its stake in Pai Skincare and now holds a majority share in the naturals skincare brand.
Courtins-Clarins family initially made a $9 million Series B investment in the London-based company in April 2021. At that time, Pai said it would earmark those funds to move its manufacturing lab to a 37,000-square-foot new facility. The new site would be large enough to increase capacity by 900%.
In 2021, Founder Sarah Brown stated: "Our Series B raise provides the financial firepower to supercharge growth in our core markets. Innovating the hard way, by developing and manufacturing our own products, is unusual in the beauty industry. Famille C Venture shares both our passion for product creation and our values around transparency and sustainability - which is what makes it a great partnership."
Financial terms of this most recent investment by Famille C were not disclosed.
Pai is a Certified B Corp, earning the status in 2022.
