New research, conducted by UK-based Landys Chemist, analyzed data found within public search trends and interest to identify the biggest brands and trends in the skincare industry this year.
Drunk Elephant ranks as the biggest skincare brand of the year, with a total skincare score of 9/10. Searches for Drunk Elephant garnered 5.9 million total searches from March 2022 to February 2023, and has over 1.4 million followers on Instagram. The brand also boasts over half a million followers on TikTok and ‘#drunkelephant’ has garnered more than 1.7 billion views.
CeraVe ranks as the second biggest skincare brand of the year with a total skincare score of 8.67/10. Although there were almost 20 million more Google searches for CeraVe in the past 12 months, the search volume had only risen by 28% from the previous year. A drugstore staple, CeraVe is loved by skincare enthusiasts across the globe. CeraVe boasts 1.1 million followers on TikTok and the brand's hashtag has garnered 5.9 billion total views on the platform.
Tatcha rounds off the top 3 biggest skincare brands of the year with a total skincare score of 7.33/10. Tatcha has 1.2 million followers on Instagram and 55.3k total followers on TikTok. It has 296.2 million views on the brand hashtag.
