Vibrant hair color brand Good Dye Young— founded by Paramore’s Hayley Williams and her hairstylist, Brian O’Connor – has landed on the shelves of Ulta Beauty and online.
The brand, which launched in 2016, is part of Ulta Beauty’s Conscious Beauty program. Good Dye Young, which caters to people of all ages, offers a semi-permanent hair color collection; its key active ingredient, sunflower extract, contains UV- blocking agents that prevent color from fading. Coconut oil in the lightening kit contains hydrating properties to restore moisture that would be stripped during the lightening process. Soy protein adds integrity to the hair in place of keratin, according to the company.
The brand also offers its Lighter Daze collection for lovers of pastel colors without the strong neon shade, and the Metal Head collection spans shimmery metallic shades for consumers seeking a head-turning look.
To coincide with the launch, Good Dye Young created an Ulta-exclusive, beginner-friendly starter kit for first-time users.
“A first-time buyer would need to use the Lightening Kit to pre-lighten their hair to a light blonde color,” O’Connor told Happi in a previous interview. “They can then go in with the vibrant semi-permanent shade of their choice.”
Since its launch into hair care seven years ago, Good Dye Young currently has 78 SKUs and is planning on a salon line and additional retailer in the coming years.
Globally, Good Dye Young is available for purchase at Beauty Bay and Selfridges in the UK.
