US Patent No. 11,685,878 B2 (Gaétan Rauwel, Jacques Criquelion, Sebastién Terrier, Bertrand Letartre); Ecolab USA Inc., Saint Paul, MN, has patented a detergent for removing pigment-containing or non-pigment-containing hydrophobic residues from surfaces of manufacturing or packaging devices or other hardware used to manufacture or package cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions.
The composition includes an ethoxylated C5-C11 fatty alcohol having one or more units of propylene oxide, butylene oxide, or pentylene oxide; a non-aromatic co-surfactant, wherein the non-aromatic co-surfactant is a C10-C16 alkyl dimethyl amine oxide; an aromatic hydrotrope; an amino alcohol (triethanolamine); an alkaline hydroxide; a propylene glycol solvent; a phosphonic acid; and optionally water.
A use solution of the detergent composition has a pH of between 7 and 13.
