Specialty silicone manufacturer Siltech held a groundbreaking ceremony for its third production facility in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.
Projected to be completed at the end of 2024, this new facility will more than double the company’s current capacity from its Toronto and Mississauga plants. Across the Niagara River from Buffalo, NY this modern plant will have a steady supply of largely non-petroleum energy from the Ontario utilities, according to the Toronto-based company.
Siltech's latest products for the cosmetics category include Silwax Sustain 5116, an improved sustainability liquid alkyl dimethicone that provides excellent spreadability, emollience and pleasing sensorial in personal care; Silube Sustain 4316, an improved sustainability alkyl functional silicone polyether emulsifier that provides premium benefits as a water-in-oil (invert) emulsifier; and Siltech PTM, a specialty phenyl-modified liquid silicone that compatibilizes cosmetic ingredients while eliciting spreadability, conditioning and improved sensorial in a variety of applications.
