In Chinese culture, 2024’s Lunar New Year brings fire-breathing dragons, and for Asian-owned candlemaker Blueme, there’s no better way to celebrate than with candlelight.
Coincidentally, the brand was founded by Mei Xu on the heels of a book she authored called “Burn,” which chronicles her ingenuity, determination and luck in business. She successfully negotiated the sale of her other brand, Chesapeake Bay Candle, to HAPPI Top 50 Company, Newell Brands, in 2017.
Zen Philosophy
To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, Blueme released a Lunar New Year limited-edition Votive Set, which consists of fresh-start-eliciting fragrances Calm, Balance, Nostalgia and Focus.
Guided by scientific research on the human sense of smell and taste, Blueme Candles craft functional fragrances that promote emotional and psychological benefits. Its fragrances consist of inspiration from the wisdom of nature and Zen philosophy.
What’s more, Founder Mei Xu has served on many corporate and nonprofit boards including the Children’s National Hospital Foundation and more.
Blueme Candles are sold at Blueme.com and Bloomingdales.
