Beiersdorf has acquired real estate assets of Clinique La Prairie in Montreux, Switzerland, the birthplace of La Prairie Switzerland, its luxury skincare and beauty brand.
Established in 1931, Clinique La Prairie is a medical and health clinic where the original research was conducted into cellular therapy for use in rejuvenating cosmetic products—a driver behind La Prairie’s skincare formulations.
The deal encompasses seven buildings including the signature villa known as “La Résidence.” According to reports, the health and medical clinic of Clinique La Prairie are not part of the accord.
Beiersdorf acquired La Prairie Group AG in 1991.
In a LinkedIn post, Beiersdorf CEO Vincent Warnery wrote: “I am thrilled for the acquisition of the historic real estate property in Montreux, Switzerland, reuniting the iconic La Prairie brand with its birthplace. This strategic move strengthens Beiersdorf's luxury business and fosters a unique partnership between La Prairie Switzerland and Clinique La Prairie that inspires even closer collaboration opportunities.”
