Like pollution, blue light poses a daily threat to skin and eyes, according to Indena (stand M138). Sunlight is the main source of blue light and the exposure to these rays induces aging-like changes, mainly attributed to their ultraviolet components. However, indoor sourced blue light as LED, fluorescent lighting and flat screen TV, computers, tablets and smartphones, have been recognized to have a demaging impact on the skin. In particular, blue light has been observed to produce oxidative stress in live skin and to accelerate the aging processes mainly by inducing a molecular damage skin proteins.
Vitachelox is a new solution to blue light. After demonstrating its ability to act as an antipollution, skin protectant, free radical scavenger and chelator on various mechanisms triggered by the most common polluting agents, new clinical data following Vitachelox treatment showed a significant improvement in protein quality.
The safety profile and effectiveness of Indena extracts are supported by several experimental tests, which few other companies can provide in support of their products. The expertise and the approach to research and innovation has always been the hallmark of Indena, and has led the company to the production of the highest quality active ingredients of botanical origin for the pharmaceutical, health-food and personal-care sectors.
The new data on the anti-blue ray properties of Indena Vitachelox will be presented at In-Cosmetics 2018 during the Innovation Seminar at the Technical Seminar Theatre No. 1 on April 17, at 12:00-12:30.
Indena has always had a sustainable approach to environment. Furthermore, in 2013 the company established a program for sustainable sourcing (SuSo). Detailed information on such a program, achievements and future projects will be available at the Sustainability Corner during the three days of the show, and a specific presentation will be given on April 18th, at 11:00-11:30, in the same Corner.
