If only for an hour, the In-Cosmetics Global tradeshow floor was transformed into a fashion runway when Ashland (stand E50) took a novel approach to highlight its latest innovations.
"Ashland's entire In-Cosmetics experience showcases the stories behind our innovations, and the raw material ingredients used to help formulators answer some of the personal care industry’s most complex challenges that power high performance, sustainable innovations," explained Carolmarie Brown, VP-corporate affairs, marketing, brand and business communications, Ashland. "Like the journey from initial sketch to flower-draped mannequin, to the live models here today, Ashland’s innovations take you from the responsible growing and harvesting of raw materials to laboratory sketches and outlines, and on to formulation trials and prototypes that become the synthesized solutions the personal care industry uses to delight, beautify and protect consumers — all based on specific regional market needs all over the world."
Using science, technology, engineering and math, Ashland’s conscious-to-cutting-edge technologies and sustainably grown and harvested ingredients, put the power of its people and products in the hands of customers and consumers alike. In a very unique presentation, the show took attendees behind the scenes of some dynamic ingredients, and where they are grown and harvested. Ashland turns those raw materials into advanced technologies that deliver products that beautify, restore, rejuvenate and inspire.
For example, Ashland’s newest dynamic biofunctional, Liftyl, uses upcycled rosewood chips to take a multi-ethnic genomic approach to facial sculpting. The active contains rosewood extract.
Based on a raspberry ketone and a preservative potentiator, Ashland's Phyteq helps protect cosmetics against spoilage and acts as a potent antioxidant and free radical scavenger that helps protect the skin's elasticity.
Ashland Softhance conditioner harnesses the power of soy and glycerine to provide moisture retention and deliver a soft, moisturized feel to skin for rinse-off systems, including body wash, facial and hand soaps, cleansers and scrubs.
Styleze es-dura is a plant-based ecostyler for hair care that delivers leading edge styling in all weather and unsurpassed sustainability.
Saffragyl biofunctional is upcycled from crocus flowers providing an innovation in daily oral beauty that enables a magical smile, according to Ashland
Antaron is Ashland’s nature-derived, biodegradable, non-microplastic film former that provides water resistance, SPF boosting, long-wear and color transfer resistance benefits to sun care and color cosmetic formulations.
Sensiva go natural is a biodegradable, Cosmos-validated, 100% natural origin multifunctional antimicrobial blend. It offers moisturizing properties and broad pH, suitable for even the most sensitive skin.
During the show, Brown highlighted Ashland's range of ESG programs, including sustainable guar initiatives, under the Ashland Responsible Solvers program.
"These models, wearing visual representations of Ashland’s most vital, naturally-derived, nature-friendly materials, are a testament to our dedication to the responsible development of breakthrough products," concluded Brown.
