Three-Layered Hair Composition, Skin Treatment Patented by Estée Lauder
(US Patent No. 9,393,183 B2) ELC Management has patented a osmetic composition comprising three liquid layers. The top layer comprises at least 50% of one or more liquid base oils; the middle layer comprises one or more liquid, linear silicones; and the bottom layer comprises at least 50% of one or more liquid polyols. The top and middle layers are separated by an interface and the middle and bottom layers are separated by an interface. The composition comprises no more than 1% of salts and no more than 1% of mineral oil by weight.
ELC Management has also patented a method for moisturizing a keratin surface and blurring the appearance of defects by de-glossing the keratin surface via topical product (US Patent No. 9,387,161 B2). The method entaills topically applying copolymer of methacrylate PPG-6 phosphate and one or more monomers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or one of their simple esters, crosslinked with dimethicone PEG/PPG-25/29 acrylate in a cosmetically acceptable composition. The composition containing the copolymer provides improved moisturization and blurring of skin defects when compared to the same composition not containing the copolymer.
Topical Composition with Lyophilized Pluripotent Stem Cells
(US Patent No. 9,381,151 B2) Richard Burt of Chicago has patented a topical anti-aging composition for the skin comprising non-viable lyophilized pluripotent stem cells dispersed in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The non-viable lyophilized pluripotent stem cells are in the form of non-viable intact cells and fragments and cellular contents of pluripotent stem cells.
Botanical Extracts from Oil Palm For Wrinkles, Fine Lines
(US Patent No. 9,381,145 B2) The Malaysian Palm Oil Board has been awarded a patent for a method of treating or reducing the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines on skin. The method entails applying to the skin an effective amount of a cosmeceutical composition that conatins mixture of phenolic compounds and glycerol extracted from vegetation liquor of palm oil milling process. The composition has effective amount of the mixture to reduce skin ageing and/or the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines on the skin.
Antimicrobial Skin Sanitizing Composition
(US Patent No. 9,381,150 B2) Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Neenah, WI, has patented an antimicrobial skin sanitizing composition that contains alcohol; a cationic compound for imparting a skin conditioning benefit; and a thickening system, compatible with the cationic compound, that is essentially free of cellulosic polymers, starches, acrylates, and acrylate-based polymers.
