The eternal challenge of maintaining hair color after a visit to the salon is a perpetual dilemma for many beauty consumers. However, indie brands such as dpHue are evolving and expanding to preserve color by way of cleansing and styling.
On Jan. 12, dpHue hosted a webinar with dpHue Co-Founder and Celebrity Colorist Justin Anderson to showcase the new Color Fresh Styling Collection, the brand's first range of styling products.
According to Anderson, hot tools, hard water and UV rays are the top reasons hair color can fade, dull and shift over time. The indie brand’s Color Fresh line extension is made specifically to keep color-treated tresses in check between salon visits.
The six new products include a Leave-In Mist, Blow Dry Crème, Touchable Hairspray, Dry Texture Spray, Texturizing Powder and Thermal Protection Spray, all available at Ulta as well as dpHue.com.
The new stylers prep hair for smoother and shinier results, protect color and prevent damage and breakage. Each product is 100% water soluble and tint free, too.
“I love helping people feel good about themselves and a great hair day is the best way to start. When you feel your best, you’re the best version of yourself. Why not feel this way every day?” said Anderson.
The hair styling market is posting healthy sales gains right now. Hair styling gel/mousse sales jumped 3.9% to $1.05 billion while hair spray/spritz sales rose 4.5% to $576.6 million, according to data from Information Resources Inc. (IRI) for total US multi-outlet (supermarkets, drugstores, mass market retailers, military commissaries and select club and dollar retail chains) for the 52 weeks ended Nov. 28, 2021.
