Arch Personal Care Products recently introduced three new ingredients: Beta Gel, Kudzu Zymbiozome Fermentum and ViscUp EZ.
Beta Gel, a new active moisturizing hydrogel, provides multifunctional benefits to both skin and hair, delivering rheology control with advanced moisturization and feel. Its three-dimensional structure consists of a number of anionic charges on the polyacrylate polymer backbone tied together with the cationic portion of betaine. Together, this polymeric complex provides consistent and effective delivery of moisturizers immediately upon skin contact and prolonged moisture delivery after application, according to Arch.
Key product attributes include instant dryness relief, prolonged moisturization, non-tacky aesthetics both during and after application, viscosity enhancement and formulation stabilization and hair fiber strengthening.
Kudzu Zymbiozome Fermentum is based on an extraction from the root nodules of the kudzu plant (L. Pueraria lobata), which is renowned for its beauty and versatility. Kudzu root nodules are enriched in a potent globin protein (leghemoglobin), affording skin brightening benefits and a key isoflavone (puerarin), imparting potent antioxidant properties to this extract.
Key product attributes include improvement in skin tone, free radical scavenging-ROS and RNS, promotion of procollagen synthesis as well as antioxidant properties.
ViscUp EZ is an anionic acrylic polymer dispersed in an emollient and is used to thicken aqueous solutions and to stabilize O/W emulsions. Designed for high efficiency and fast viscosity building, both formulators and manufacturers will appreciate how easy it is to use and how effectively it works, according to Arch Personal Care. In skin care formulations it has a smooth, silky feel without any tackiness and is compatible with a broad range of cosmetic ingredients including anionic and nonionic additives, enabling the cosmetic formulator to easily develop a wide range of products including sprayable lotions and creams and hair care formulations.
Key product attributes include ease of use, stability between pH 2-11, no neutralization, homogenization, pre-dispersion or preliminary swelling required, cold processing and post-emulsification addition and a light texture with a non-tacky, non-greasy
