Global research organization Frost & Sullivan honored Rahn’s Celligent with the 2012 Europe Product Quality Leadership Award in the biological active ingredient skin repair market. Each year, this award is presented to a company that differentiates itself in terms of product performance, reliability, design, usability and perceived value within the industry.

According to the company, Celligent provides effective (stem) cell and DNA protection. The active ingredient complex has been specially developed for protecting and treating skin from daily stresses such as UV exposure. It protects the DNA and supports the repair of UV-induced cell and stem cell damage.

Three active principles are interlocked: ethyl ferulate, a natural antioxidant with UV absorbing properties, neutralizes dangerous oxygen radicals and reduces the dose of UV radiation which penetrates the skin; carnosolic acid, which combats free radicals—one of the main causes of DNA and cell damage; and uridine monophosphate (UMP), a biochemical precursor to the synthesis of nucleotides, supports the repair of DNA in the cell. The recommended use level is 0.5–3%, said Rahn.
