The following are recently issued patents related to fabric care.
• US Patent No. 8,598,109 B2; Method Products, Inc., San Francisco, has patented a fabric softener formulation. It is comprised of methyl bis(canola amidoethyl)-2-hydroxyethyl ammonium methyl sulfate, dicocoylethyl hydroxyethylmonium-Cl, a glycol, solvent, methyl laurate, alcohol and fragrance.
• US Patent No. 8,598,104 B2; Reckitt Benckiser N.V has been awarded a US patent covering a detergent composition that contains hydrophobic polymer, sulphonated polyacrylate, pyrrolidone derivative, anionic surfactant, and a non-phosphorus based builder which comprises methyl glycine diacetic acid and/or glutamic-N,N-diacetic acid and/or salts thereof.
• US Patent No. 8,541,354 B2; The Procter & Gamble Company has patented a solid laundry detergent composition consisting of eight catalysts, sodium carbonate, zeolite builder, phosphate builder, sodium sulphate, silicate, sodium chloride and less than 40% reducing sugar, wherein the eight catalysts are a protease, an amylase, a cellulase, a lipase, a mannose, a pectate lyase, a manganese centered catalyst, and a cobalt centered catalyst. The ratio of the total reduction in activation energy in kilojules per mole achieved by the catalysts to the electrolytic strength of the laundry detergent composition as a concentration of 1 g/L in deionized water and at a temperature of 25°C in mScm-1 is at least 300.
