Procedure | |
Using overhead mixing, add water, Armocare APA-18V, and lactic acid to beaker and cover the beaker using aluminum foil and heat to 80°C. Then in a separate beaker heat the stearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol to 80°C. Add phase B to phase A with moderate mixing. Hold the temperature at 80°C for 15 minutes. Then, begin cooling and at 70°C add the Armocare VGH-70. Continue to cool and at 40°C add the Euxyl PE 9010. Then add the Structure PQ-37P rheology modifier and increase the mixing speed to at least 600rpm to aid in dispersion. Next, adjust pH if necessary using 20% citric acid to around 5.5. | |
