Procedure | |
Sift Pemulen TR-2 slowly into the water and mix until fully dispersed/dissolved (avoid clumping while adding). Add all other ingredients and begin heating to 75-80°C with moderate mixing. In a separate vessel add all ingredients of phase B except Parsol TX and heat to 75-80°C with moderate mixing. Once phase B is melted add Parsol TX to the oil phase. Add phase B to phase A at 75-80°C. Add phase C at 80°C and homogenize for 3 minutes with moderate speed at 75-80°C. Begin cooling batch to 60°C. Add all ingredients of phase D except Tinosorb M and stir until a clear solution is obtained. Add Tinosorb M and add phase D slowly at 60°C to the emulsion while mixing and homogenize for 2 minutes with moderate speed. Add phase E below 40°C under stirring and mixing with moderate homogenization speed at 4000 rpm until dispersed and uniform. Cool down to room temperature. Adjust pH to 7.0-7.5. A homogenization step at the end is recommended. | |
