Sederma has renewed its membership with the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) for the second consecutive year.
This international organization promotes an ethical sourcing of natural ingredients. The UEBT establishes good practices to be followed in Sederma’s activity while respecting biodiversity and the people who contribute to the development of the company’s active ingredient offering.
By becoming a member of the UEBT in 2020, Sederma is committed to the ethical sourcing in natural ingredients. After an audit by the UEBT, some of the supply chains have achieved the “responsibly sourced” compliance level, such as the Mirabilis jalapa used in Pacifeel. For other supply chains, Sedema has set up action plans to help its partners improve their practices.
Three of Sederma’s employees have been trained to the UEBT standard to learn more about the requirements and to evaluate the supply chains more easily. Through UEBT membership, Sederma is pursuing its ambition to be a recognized responsible player in cosmetics with greater transparency and traceability. This is in-line with its CSR strategy "Be ACTIVEly Committed" and more broadly with the Croda Group's vision, "Smart science to improve lives" thus contributing to Croda's commitment to be Climate, Land and People Positive by 2030.
