A package design for a three-wick winter candle caused an uproar on social media, and Bath & Body Works has since removed the product from its website and stores. Partial pieces of a paper snow flake on the jar of the company’s  “Snowed In” candle looked like hoods worn by members of the Klu Klux Klan.

A post from Instagram user_scentsgalore.

BBW had issued the following statement to several media outlets:

“At Bath & Body Works, we are committed to listening to our teams and customers, and committed to fixing any mistakes we make-even those that are unintentional like this one. We apologize to anyone we’ve offended and are swiftly working to have this item removed and are evaluating our process going forward.”

The candle is no longer available on the company’s website.
