Tru Fragrance & Beauty has acquired Lake & Skye with aim to scale the brand’s growth.

A longtime brand partner, Tru Fragrance & Beauty made a minority investment in the brand in 2018. The capital infusion and closer alliance with Tru Fragrance & Beauty (which now takes a majority stake) will enable Lake & Skye to more aggressively grow its consumer base, support national retailer partners including Ulta, Nordstrom and Blue Mercury, officials said.

“This acquisition marks an inflection point for our brand. Tru Fragrance & Beauty has played a pivotal role in Lake & Skye’s growth since 2018, and I’m excited to deepen our collaboration and continue our upward trajectory,” said Courtney Somer, CEO and founder of Lake & Skye. “By working closely together, we’re poised to elevate the brand to new heights, deepening our relationship with the fragrance and wellness community that has so warmly embraced us. I look forward to unlocking opportunities for growth and expanding our impact in the market.”

Alongside the acquisition, Somer will be chief creative officer and founder and remain a minority equity owner. Roxann Blasz will serve as brand president. She brings more than two decades of experience within the fragrance industry, previously holding executive positions at L’Oréal, Coty and Oribe with her most recent role as global senior vice president of Ralph Lauren Fragrances.

With fragrance as its best-selling and hero category, Lake & Skye creates eau de parfums, fragrance oils, candles and body care. Somer, a wellness expert with over a decade of experience studying aromatherapy, yoga, reiki and nutrition, created Lake & Skye to help others heal and find calmness in their lives as she did through her wellness routines.

Since its inception in 2015, Lake & Skye has experienced what officials call “remarkable” growth and is currently on track to double its year-over-year sales. Throughout its expansion, the brand has remained profitable while expanding its fragrance-centric portfolio beyond the 11 11 scent to include flankers like 11 11 Azure and 11 11 Vanilla, as well as body care.
