EltaMD is marking its second annual National Dermatologist Day with the launch of its Derm Difference campaign to spotlight dermatologists’ expertise in understanding skin at a deeper level.

Getting Real About Skin Health

The campaign features a content series of insightful conversations between leading dermatologists, aiming to help patients look beyond their skin and recognize the impactful difference a dermatologist can make. The series will include Dr. Mona Gohara, Dr. Dustin Portela, Dr. Elyse Love, Dr. Andrea Suarez, Dr. Dendy Engelman and Dr. Noelani Gonzalez who will share their unique experiences that led them to the field of dermatology. Expert advice will be given across the following three themes:

Derms Save Lives with Dr. Mona Gohara and Dr. Dustin Portela: The critical role dermatologists play in preventing, detecting and treating skin cancer;

Derms Solve Skin Issues with Dr. Elyse Love and Dr. Andrea Suarez: How dermatologists help patients navigate and treat skin conditions like acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation and more;

Derms Give Confidence with Dr. Dendy Engelman and Dr. Noelani Gonzalez: How healthy skin and cosmetic dermatology can restore self-esteem.

“I didn’t even know about the specialty of dermatology growing up in a very small farming community in Idaho,” said Dr. Protela. “And I know that it impacted my self-confidence [with having struggled with acne]. So, I love that I’m able to give that confidence to somebody else with my knowledge in how to treat and help the skin look better.”

Personal ‘Why’

To amplify expert voices and elevate the conversation around skin health, sun protection and skin cancer prevention, EltaMD is uniting the dermatologist community. Beginning today, March 13, the brand calls on derms to share their personal “why” and their skin stories on social media. When 313 stories are shared, the brand will donate $100,000 worth of sunscreen and skin care products to support the Melanoma Research Foundation’s patient and caregiver program, a series of educational events in collaboration with leading academic medical centers.

EltaMD will ring the Closing Bell today at the New York Stock Exchange accompanied by a group of dermatologists on the trading floor.

“Dermatologists are true heroes, and we are proud to celebrate them – not just on National Dermatologist Day, but every day,” said Echo Sandburg, chief brand officer of CP Skin Health.
