Skin-scrutinizing beauty consumers are investing (and entrusting) in the power of skincare devices. The pretty penny spent on them is apparently worth the pretty effect.

That’s why, per Spate’s Popularity, high frequency facial wands and red-light face masks are the fastest-growing skincare devices in the US.

Red Light Face Masks

Stop! In the name of red-light face masks!

The lighted masks use red wavelength light as The Red Guardian against signs of aging. It reduces inflammation by stimulating collagen and elastin production, increases circulation and boosts cellular energy. The trend has surged in popularity, analysts say, growing 88.6% compared to last year, with a 90.1% lift on Google Search and 24.4% on TikTok. Google dominates the conversation with a 98.4% Popularity Share, generating an average of 9.9K monthly searches, while TikTok brings in 34.7K weekly views.

The category spans from high-end masks promising clinical-level results to affordable Amazon dupes. While analysts say they don’t necessarily measure up to the results of in-office treatments, consumers are eager to bring once-exclusive treatments home, both for convenience and cost savings. Search insights show strong interest in comparisons and reviews of brands like Qure, HigherDose and Omnilux, signaling space for emerging players. Consumers are also seeking out discounts and retailer information, suggesting high-purchase intent. Reddit, for example, has become a particularly valuable platform for authentic discussion, as it offers fewer paid placements than TikTok. On the net’s most popular platform, the trend ties into the broader #skincareroutine conversation (1.6K average weekly views alongside this trend, analysts report), showing how high-tech devices are becoming an integral part of daily skincare rituals.

High Frequency Facial Wands

It’s electric!

High frequency facial wands are another skincare device sparking consumer interest. Among its many magical specialties, these wands use electrical currents to stimulate collagen, kill acne-causing bacteria and calm inflammation, which can result in a more even skin tone and fewer breakouts. The trend is up 17.7% compared to last year across platforms, analysts say, with growth of 22.2% on Google Search and 11.7% on TikTok. Google currently owns the conversation with 59.1% Popularity Share, generating 11.2K average monthly searches, while TikTok drives 1.0M average weekly views.

These devices require consistent use to see lasting results, but many consumers remain unsure about how they work and whether they carry any risks. That gap creates a clear opportunity for brands to step in with education — explaining proper usage, clarifying misconceptions and addressing concerns about side effects. On TikTok, the trend connects to adjacent conversations through hashtags like #postpartumhairloss (693.6K average weekly views), #collagenproduction (681.0K) and #finelines (677.4K), signaling demand for hybrid devices and targeted solutions for women experiencing postpartum changes or those focused on anti-aging. The category also shows strong commerce potential, analysts say, with 77.3% of TikTok views tied to TikTok Shop content, reflecting high shoppability. One of the most popular brands in this space is NuDerma, whose #nuderma hashtag generates 292.4K average weekly views.
