The National Father’s Day Council has named David Greenberg, Chairman of L’Oréal USA, a Father of the Year honoree at the 84th Annual Father of the Year Awards.

Other honorees included Mark Weber, iHeart Media host and former luxury industry executive, and Jarrod Weber, global president, sports and lifestyle at Authentic Brands Group.

The awards luncheon took place on Thursday, June 18 in New York City. Proceeds benefitted Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, which creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Lasting Impact

CEO and President of The Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council, Inc., Michael Haskell, said the honorees were praised for showing “unbelievable dedication” to their families, passion for their careers and leadership in public service.

“Each year, we are proud to recognize fathers whose leadership extends well beyond their professional accomplishments,” said Haskell. “This year’s honorees have made lasting impacts in their respective industries while demonstrating an unwavering commitment to family, which truly embodies the spirit of this event and the mission it supports.”

Greenberg, a father of two sons, has built a distinguished career at Happi International Top 30 Company L’Oréal spanning more than three decades in leadership roles across markets, divisions, brands and functions. In 2022, Greenberg was appointed CEO of L’Oréal USA, president of the North America Zone, and a member of the Group’s Executive Committee – reportedly the first American to serve in these roles.

During his tenure, the US business was the number one growth driver for L’Oréal three years in a row, solidifying its position as the group’s top market. In January 2026, Greenberg assumed the newly created role of chairman of L’Oréal USA.

“A lot can be said about father-son relationships. All I can say is, it’s been the highlight of my life to be able to hang out with those two guys,” said Greenberg during his acceptance speech, nodding to his two sons who presented him the award.

Beyond their adventures (and misadventures), Greenberg said the real growth has been his own.

“As I reflect on it, I think ‘dad’ is not so much a title as it is a process,” he said. “You can call this process ‘lessons in humility’ and the goal rather than perfection is just to do a little bit better tomorrow than you did yesterday.”

As for parenting advice? He said kids a lot more resilient that parents give them credit for.

“Despite your efforts to cajole them and guide them, they will in fact find their own way,” he said. “Some will find it earlier, and some will find it later, but they will find it.”

As part of its continued support of meaningful philanthropies dealing with issues affecting mothers, fathers, and children, The National Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council, Inc. has donated more than $39 million to deserving family-related charities nationwide.
