Based on Aerosil R812S hydrophobic fumed silica, Evonik and Dermaceutical Laboratories have created a powder-to-cream moisturizer that imparts intense moisture as well as a cooling sensation. In the finished product, Aerosil R812S acts as a free-flowing powder that provides optical properties and mattifying properties on skin. The product also contains RetiSTAR, an active ingredient that contains stabilized retinol, tocopherol and sodium ascorbate. The formula is said to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and age spots; may help skin utilize oxygen at the cellular level and increase the synthesis of collagen without affecting non-collagen protein synthesis.
