Paula’s Choice is fast out of the gate this year with a new formulation: Skin Perfecting 6% Mandelic Acid + 2% Lactic Acid Liquid Exfoliant. This leave-on exfoliant, powered by two forms of alpha hydroxy acid, works on skin's surface to target dullness while softening signs of aging and fortifying skin's barrier. It also promotes normalized cell renewal for a fresher, glowing complexion, according to the brand. The mandelic acid in the formula has the largest molecular size for AHAs, making it less irritating and more suitable for sensitive skin. Time released lactic acid is super gentle yet highly effective, according to the skincare brand, which is part of Unilever. Further, yarrow extract helps to protect and replenish skin’s barrier while working to improve communication between key neuropeptides in skin responsible for normal cell renewal. The formula is designed to be applied once or twice daily after cleansing and toning.
