BASF Launches New Biodegradable, Anti-Redeposition Polymer

BVERDE GP 790 L is the latest addition to BASF’s comprehensive portfolio of ingredients for laundry detergent applications. 

 

This new, readily biodegradable, anti-redeposition polymer is designed to meet customers’ growing need for products with greater emphasis on sustainability without compromising on performance. The company defines “readily biodegradable” as equal to, or greater than, 60% degradation within 28 days, as measured by OECD 301F method.

While BASF is expanding its sustainable offerings, it is also designing new ingredients that can match the anti-redeposition performance of acrylate polymers with a superior ecological profile. BVERDE GP 790 L is a 79% biobased and readily biodegradable polymer that is more compatible with standard detergent formulations than acrylic-based chemistry, yielding a clear and homogenous product.
