Eucerin, one of the world’s most trusted skincare brands for more than 100 years, is expanding into the US sun protection market with its revolutionary new Eucerin Sun line.

Developed with dermatologists and consisting of seven products across face and body, Eucerin Sun is one of the only dermatological sun care lines with a unique complex of five antioxidants to go beyond sun protection and help promote healthy-looking skin.

“There’s no longer a one-size-fits-all approach to sun protection,” said dermatologist Susan Taylor, MD. “Consumers are able to now find a solution through scientifically advanced sunscreens tailored to their individual skin needs—that go beyond basic sun protection and address their skin concerns, which range from sensitive skin to dry skin to aging skin.”

The Eucerin Sun line is formulated with 5 AOX Shield 1, an advanced complex of five antioxidants that goes beyond neutralizing to guard from free radicals and help support skin health.

“Antioxidants are a great component to incorporate into your skincare routine,” said Dr. Taylor. “They complement and supercharge your sunscreen to deliver maximum protection, offering your skin a second line of defense against UV rays, and they help prevent hyperpigmentation and further sun damage.”

Featuring five key antioxidants – Licochalcone A, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Oxynex ST – the 5 AOX Shield formulated line offers sun protection tailor made for different skin types and tones. Whether you have aging skin, acne-prone skin, dry or sensitive skin, Eucerin Sun has a clinically-tested formula that provides broad-spectrum sun protection and addresses consumers’ specific skin concern.

Sun Age Defense: Facial sunscreen formula enriched with hyaluronic acid that is clinically proven to visibly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles with continuous use after one week;

Sun Oil Control: Facial sunscreen suitable for oily and acne prone skin that features oil-absorbing minerals that provide an immediate and long-lasting matte finish;

Sun Advanced Hydration: Face and body sunscreen formulated with hyaluronic acid and humectants to attract and replenish skin’s natural moisture; available in both a lotion and spray format and broad-spectrum SPF 30 and SPF 50; and

Sun Sensitive Mineral: A mineral sunscreen formulated with naturally sourced zinc oxide, with options for both adult and baby’s sensitive skin.

“With the addition of Eucerin Sun, we are perfectly complementing our existing skincare range in the U.S. and meeting an unfulfilled consumer need,” shared Erynn Keefe, vice president of marketing for US Derma Brands at Beiersdorf. “We tested this product line on people of all skin types and tones and we’re proud to share that our new dermo-cosmetic range offers sun protection products that take individual skin needs into account—because everyone’s skin is different.”

Since 2018, the brand’s market shares and sales have increased year-over-year. Currently, Eucerin aims to double its sales in the USA by 2026 and become a true masterbrand competing in the most relevant derma-cosmetic categories of body, sun and face. In order to achieve this target, the brand is focused on a strong business strategy, compelling consumer communications and close cooperation with retailers.

For Eucerin, understanding skin is key to every single project and effort. Each type of skin is different and is exposed to different factors. Eucerin’s extensive research is therefore based on how skin functions, changes and reacts—and how to translate these learnings into effective and highly targeted dermo-cosmetic products. With the recent opening of a new regional Innovation Center in New Jersey, the brand has created a basis to support the development of further skin and sun care products in the region, thus becoming Beiersdorf’s first and only global Center of Excellence for OTC and Sun products outside Hamburg.

The new Eucerin Sun line products range from $7.99 to $13.99 and are available at major mass retailers.
