Denise V. Seegal is Leaving Liz Claiborne Inc.

Liz Claiborne Inc. today announced that Denise V. Seegal, the Company’s president since 1996, has resigned, effective December 8, 2000. In making the announcement, Paul R. Charron, chairman and chief executive officer, said: “Denise Seegal has played a key role in our transformation to a portfolio of brands providing fashion apparel and accessories to women and men wherever they choose to shop. She has helped guide the integration of our new acquisitions and licensed brands, and has been central to a revitalization of the Liz Claiborne brand. We will miss Denise and wish her well in her future endeavors.”

Mr. Charron continued, “In the coming weeks, we will be announcing a number of changes in our organizational structure. These will be designed to address the changing needs of consumers who are increasingly conscious of quality and value in their apparel purchases. Working directly with our senior management team, I will assume Ms. Seegal’s responsibilities in the day-to-day running of the business.”
