Dr. Maiysha Jones, Principal Scientist at Secret, Talks Top Deodorant Trends

While some shoppers are satisfied with odor protection across the whole body, others also wanted help with sweat control all over.

What are today’s deodorant shoppers looking for and how is Secret meeting their needs? Dr. Maiysha Jones, Principal Scientist at Secret, took talk to chat with Happi about it.

In her words:

Consumer research from Secret reveals that today’s shoppers prefer products that offer long-lasting freshness and sweat protection. Research also found that women were concerned about body odor in places other than their armpits – like their chest, privates, and feet. This led to the Whole Body Deodorant collection of sticks, creams, and sprays, we launched early last year.

While some people are satisfied with odor protection across the whole body, others also wanted help with sweat control all over. To address this need, we recently introduced Secret Whole Body Dry Feel, an aluminum-free sweat control deodorant designed for use all over the body. Available in sticks and creams, these new whole-body formulas help absorb sweat, prevent odor, and ensure a smooth application with no visible residue.

In talking with consumers, we also discovered that some women prefer the convenience of a spray but settle for sticks because they still experience sweat and odor breakthroughs with sprays.

To give women the protection they need in the form they want, we also recently introduced Secret Clinical Dry Spray to our line of antiperspirants, designed for those seeking strong sweat and odor protection while being gentle on skin.  Secret Clinical Dry Spray features a weightless formula that dries quickly and fights three types of sweat – stress, heat and activity.
