Hairstylist Trevor Sorbie, Creator of the ‘Wedge,’ Dies at 75

Trevor Sorbie, the British hairstylist known for creating the wedge and chop hairstyles and founding his namesake salon and product businesses, died at age 75.

Sorbie’s death was revealed on his company’s Instagram page on Friday, which noted his recent terminal diagnosis of bowel cancer.

During his career, Sorbie styled hair for Helen Mirren, the Beach Boys and others. He was honored by Queen Elizabeth II for services to British hairdressing. Sorbie also created a bespoke haircare line.
