The 47th annual Outstanding Mother Awards will honor five influential leaders across beauty, retail, agriculture and food and finance on May 8 in New York City.

In the beauty industry, the National Mother’s Day Committee is recognizing Kecia Steelman, president and CEO of Ulta Beauty and Lori Singer, president of Parlux Ltd.

These women successfully balance highly influential careers with the daily demands and rewards of motherhood, family and community, officials said.

Proceeds from this year’s luncheon will benefit No Kid Hungry, a campaign of Share Our Strength, an organization committed to ending hunger and poverty in the US and around the world.

“We’re thrilled to honor these five women for their incredible accomplishments as mothers and leaders in their respective industries,” said Nance Hastings, chairman of the National Mother’s Day Committee. “We’re excited to celebrate them for their hard work and commitment while raising funds for No Kid Hungry, which helps ensure every child in America has access to nutritious meals.”

As part of its continued support of meaningful philanthropies dealing with issues affecting mothers, fathers and children, the National Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council, Inc., has donated more than $36 million to deserving family-related charities nationwide.
