LVMH Patents Improved Method for False Eyelash Application

A magnetic method designed to be easier and faster to apply and remove.

US Patent No. 11,819,558 B2 (Valérie De La Poterie, Audrey Destrem, Laurent Nogueira); LVMH Recherche, Saint Jean de Braye, France, has patented a method for applying false eyelashes. According to the patent filing there remains a need for having a method for applying false eyelashes and eye makeup that is easier and faster to achieve, easier and faster to remove—and  which is aesthetically pleasing that allows the false eyelashes to be re-used several times.

LVMH’s patent entails applying, on the eyelid, a magnetic composition comprising a homogenous dispersion of 20- 55% by mass of magnetic particles  comprising more than 90% by mass of a ferrite of formula Fe203, MO, in which M represents Fe, Ba, Sr, Mn or Zn; and applying, on the composition deposited in the previous step, a false eyelash comprising a magnetic base, to which a fringe of eyelashes is attached. The base comprises at least one magnet.
