P&G and Unilever To Raise Prices in China

Detergents jump as much as 10% in retail marketplace.

That red-hot Chinese economy will get a little hotter in the coming months. Procter & Gamble and Unilever raised prices for detergents in China by as much as 10%, the China Business News reported today, citing unidentified dealers.


China, one of the few nations that didn’t sink into a prolonged recession back in 2007, has been trying to tame inflation for years. But with raw material prices soaring, it was only a matter of time before retail prices started rising again.
