Pine-Sol, a Clorox Company brand, celebrates 75 years of helping American households, look, smell and feel clean, executives said. The company was founded in 1929 to help clean and deodorize local banks in Mississippi, and 17 years later began selling in other states.

It was acquired by The Clorox Company in 1990. Pine-Sol executives said since the acquisition, sales have tripled, making it one of the largest selling dilutable cleaners in the world. The cleaner is also one of the largest buyers of pine oil, which is made available from the pulp and paper industry.

To celebrate its milestone, bottles of Pine-Sol cleaner will be available with special commemorative 75th anniversary labels through July. They will be available in Pine, Lemon Fresh, Orange Energy and Rain Clean scents at food, drug, dollar and mass merchandising stores across the country. More info: www.pinesol.com.
