When searching for hair inspiration, many consumers turn to TikTok as their go-to platform for discovering the next color, style or cut. The platform not only highlights trending looks, but allows users to see the same style on a variety of creators—some of whom may share similar features, helping them envision an accurate replication. Currently, two of the fastest-growing hair trends on TikTok are Sabrina Carpenter hair and calico hair.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter’s hair averages 2.5 million weekly views and boasts a +2K% year-over-year growth in views compared to last year. This trend has a positive TikTok sentiment score of 8.4/10, showing that it’s generating mostly positive reactions. To replicate her glamorous locks, analysts encourage the use of hashtags like #curtainbangs, which garners 488.5K average weekly views. Another option is mastering the blowout. The hashtag #blowouttutorial averages 472.8K weekly views, helping users achieve a bouncy, polished style. Interestingly, the top branded hashtag associated with this trend is #wavytalk (472.4K average weekly views), which is the hair curler Carpenter is reportedly using.

For brands, staying attuned to pop culture trends is key, specifically on TikTok, where consumers not only find inspiration, but have the opportunity to purchase directly through TikTok Shop. Leveraging these trends to push products can be a game changer in connecting with today’s audience, analysts say.

Calico

Calico hair is making waves on TikTok, with an average of 5.8 million weekly views and a +989.4% growth in views compared to last year, per analysts. This Y2K-inspired style is no surprise, as the Y2K aesthetic continues to grow in popularity on TikTok. So much, it’s seeing a +47.7% year-over-year growth in views and an average of 193.7 million weekly views. Calico hair’s related hashtag, #hairtransformation (559.2K average weekly views), highlights the type of content consumers are loving. The related hashtag #y2khair, with 460.1K average weekly views, highlights that today’s consumers are eager to embrace this nostalgia-fueled trend.
