As a top Japanese supplier, Seiwa Kasei develop many proteins and derivatives.

Growing in recent popularity is a powder-based plant protein series. Due to the yearly increase of restrictions and requirements of ingredients, additives and preservatives are needed prior to ingredient testing. To sidestep additives, Seiwa Kasei has developed a powder-grade, sustainable solution called Promois, a 100% pure hydrolyzed protein. Promois series is a range of peptides and derivatives obtained through hydrolysis of natural proteins.

Seiwa Kasei offers four grades of Cosmos-approved plant proteins.

Hydrolyzed Pea Protein

Promois WJ-SP (botanical keratin), or hydrolyzed pea protein, has conditioning efficacy. With a pea protein amino acid composition similar to keratin, it contains excellent moisturizing properties for hair and skin, and repairs hair damage. A non-GMO, botanical keratin does not contain genetically modified pea and it not deemed allergenic per the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

Hydrolyzed Rice Protein

Promois WR-SP provides excellent moisture given its contents of a large proportion of acidic amino acids. Rice protein is adsorbed more easily by the hair and skin, making it advantageous over other vegetable proteins.

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein

Promois WS-HSP soy protein is distinct from animal proteins such as collagen and keratin in that, it is composed of 30% glutamic acid and aspartic acid, which possess a particularly high moisturizing property. Its smooth texture helps prevent unmanageable hair.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein

Promois WG-SP wheat protein is rich in acidic amino acids, particularly glutaminc acid, which provides a moisturizing effect. It also has a slight amount of cystine, the amino acid that strengthens hair. Compared with other plant proteins, wheat proteins have a lighter texture.
