US Patent No. 11,801,207 B2 (Satoshi Yamaki, Kazutaka Sasaki, Takashi Matsui, Yurika Watanabe, Mayuri Tashiro, Yuko Nagare, Marianne Ayaka Touati, Kazuhiro Yamaguchi); Shiseido Company has patented a water-in-oil emulsion sunscreen cosmetic. It is comprised of a UV protective agent consisting of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide; dimethyldistearylammonium hectorite; an oil-phase-thickening agent consisting of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of dextrin palmitate, stearic acid and aluminum stearate; a silicone-based surfactant having an HLB of less than 8 consisting of at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of PEG-10 dimethicone, PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxiethyldimethicone and bis-butldimethicone polygryceryl-3; one or more non-volatile liquid oils other than silicone oils; and polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene dialkyl ether.
