Sending 55,000 units of mosquito repellent for US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

With rising concerns about the mosquito-borne Zika virus, Spectrum Brands, Inc. – Pet, Home & Garden Division has made a donation of 55,000 units of mosquito repellent for people in the affected areas of the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The donation is being coordinated by the Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA).

“Spectrum Brands is committed to helping families living in the affected regions minimize their exposure to mosquitoes that may carry the Zika virus,” said Eric Kenney, Division vice president, Home & Garden Marketing, Spectrum Brands, Inc. – Pet, Home & Garden Division. “In addition to our product donation, we’ve also significantly increased our repellent production plan to ensure that our retailer partners in the US will avoid any out-of-stocks. Outside of the US, we are working as quickly as possible to register our insecticide products with governments in Latin America so that more products will be available for consumers in those markets as well.”

Spectrum Brands, Inc. – Pet, Home & Garden Division is a leader in lawn and garden and home pest control products and personal insect repellents. The company's broad portfolio includes Spectracide, Cutter, Repel, Hot Shot, Black Flag and Liquid Fence.
