Vegan skincare brand Youth To The People in recent weeks announced a groundbreaking financial investment to address one of the nation’s greatest challenges: gender equality and the
fight for equal representation in government.

With a three-year, $550,000 commitment to nonpartisan nonprofit She Should Run, Youth To The People’s investment supports the work of building an equitable future for the nation’s democracy.

“We are proud to stand up for gender equality and the fight for equal representation in government,” said Alexandra Sirowy Cloyes, vice president of social impact for Youth To The People. “As a business founded by family, around the values of a strong and compassionate grandmother, we’re proud to support initiatives that build a peaceful and equitable future by tapping into the leadership of young women. She Should Run is an ideal partner in this journey.”

As part of the commitment, She Should Run will expand its efforts to bring more Gen-Z women into the political pipeline, with an emphasis on reaching underrepresented women ages 18 to 25 who don’t currently see public office as a viable career option. The organization will embark on a robust research study to understand the barriers that keep young women from diverse backgrounds from considering elected office, and use that knowledge to motivate and empower thousands more women to see their own leadership potential through experiential content and curriculum.

At the end of 2020, Youth to the People launched an ambitious philanthropic initiative, Good To The People Funds – a family of three, issue-focused funds with the goal of giving $3 million by 2024 across the following charitable causes: climate, human rights, and gender and racial equity.

Earlier this year, She Should Run was the inaugural recipient of Youth To The People’s gender and racial equity focused fund, To The Future Fund. The honor signifies its intention to carry out the company's commitment to prioritize the voices of a new generation of women who have been historically shut out of decision-making to reach equal representation in this lifetime.
