TeamWorks 2022: The ‘New Norm’ in Home and Personal Care Takes Place March 22

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists' Midwest Chapter's event includes technical symposium, expo hall and social night.

The Midwest Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (MWSCC) main event, TeamWorks, is taking place on March 22, 2022, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, and is a one-day conference and trade show for beauty ingredients, formulations, delivery innovations and household product development.  With the overarching theme: “The ‘New Norm’ in Home and Personal Care” the TeamWorks 2022 event will encompass a half-day peer-reviewed Technical Symposium, Expo Hall and Social Night.  

“We are excited to bring the Midwest community together finally to meet face-to-face for unmatched education, non-stop networking and business opportunities,” said Frank Wagner, Chair, MWSCC.  

The morning technical symposium opens with “Welcome Remarks” from the MWSCC Board and TeamWorks Diamond Sponsor, Nagase Specialty Materials. Topics being presented include:  “Biosurfactants & Their Benefits Across Home & Personal Care Applications;” “Natural Preservation in Consumer Care Formulations, Lots of Moving Pieces;” “Supply Chain Issues in the “New Normal” – What is the Missing Link?;” “Future of Cleaning: The Enzymatic Solution;” and “SenStories Selector Tool: Predictive Ingredient (O/W Emulsifier) Selection for Total Consumer Alignment.” 

Sustainability will be an important topic also addressed in the Technical Symposium with sessions on “Sustainable Options in Personal & Home Care Products – What is the Consumer Demanding?;” “The Safety and Sustainability of Silicone Materials;” and “A Holistic View to Sustainability;” presented by Mark Miller, Head of Sustainability at Nagase Specialty Materials the Diamond Sponsor.

In the afternoon the TeamWorks 2022 Expo Floor opens and will feature more than 100 leading manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of raw materials and ingredients. Suppliers of testing, measurement and research equipment, as well as innovative service solutions and software providers will also be exhibiting.    

A Presentation Theater, “Main Stage,” will also be open during the expo hours and will feature select exhibitors addressing technical issues and the innovations as well as solutions that will assist in all aspects of formulation.

TeamWorks 2022 will engage and support future chemists with the MWSCC NextGen program.  Highlighted at the event will be Student Posters Presentations on display in the 400 Aisle of the Expo Hall.  In this challenge-based program, noteworthy students will win a trip to NYSCC Suppliers’ Day in New York City, May 3-4, and participate in the Future Chemists Workshop at the event.  In addition a special NextGen session “Career Paths in Cosmetic Science,” will take place in the Presentation Theater from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.

The popular social night event, a key component to attendees’ overall TEAMWORKS experience, will take place in the evening of March 22nd at Joe’s Live (Bub City) in Rosemont.  The evening will include live band karaoke, BBQ dinner buffet, signature cocktails and ample opportunities to reconnect with colleagues and peers.
