The annual meeting of the Household & Commercial Products Association (HCPA) is set for Dec. 8-11 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This meeting will give you the opportunity to engage in workshops and roundtable discussions that will shape the direction of the industry in 2025 and beyond. Attendees can network with colleagues from across the supply chain, collaborate with industry experts on priority issues and explore new services and product offerings in the exhibition area.

Monday, December 9
California Focus Special Session
John Kennedy will engage in discussions about California-specific issues, including the management of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and recent policy activities advocating for an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) model to improve HHW disposal practices.

International Affairs Program
Hearing directly from Eike Klapper, this session will help attendees understand activity in Europe, specifically their focus on sustainability, to better prepare for the future.
Tuesday, December 10
Joint Sustainability & Product Stewardship Council and Retail Engagement Program
Join Doug GatlinIan Peterman and Tony Simas as they address the questions that retailers and their consumers are asking about product and packaging safety and sustainability, the limitations of meeting those requirements, and how to bridge the gap.

Regulatory Affairs Council Program
Rich Engler will forecast the regulatory developments to watch out for in 2025, including updates on New and Existing Chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Chemical Data Reporting, the Toxics Release Inventory, and PFAS reporting requirements. Colin Preston will also assess PFAS within packaging supply chains and review how plastics recycling affects PFAS management and highlight innovations in PFAS-free materials and circular packaging solutions.

Government Relations & Public Policy 2025 Planning Special Session
During this session, Mike GruberMichelle Kopa, and Christopher Finarelli will present recommendations on the Association’s federal and state engagement priorities and strategies for the coming year.

Joint Government Relations and Sustainability & Product Stewardship Council:
EPR Special Session
This joint session will bring together Elizabeth BiserChristopher FinarelliMichelle Kopa, and Rebecca Schwartz Altholz to discuss EPR policies for both packaging and HHW.

Government Relations & Public Policy: TSCA Special Session
Featuring diverse perspectives, Ben DunhamRich Engler, and Joel Tickner, will discuss challenges and achievements of the reformed TSCA to date.
Special Closing Session with Nathan Gonzales
Nathan Gonzales will provide a nonpartisan analysis of the 2024 campaigns for Senate, House, governor, and President. Gonzales will break down the results of key races and bring valuable context to complex political dynamics
