For the first time this year, the Spring 2018 Pantone palette will incorporate 12 top colors and an additional four “classic” colors. Published for the fashion industry by the Pantone Color Institute, the report features the top colors we can expect to see on the runway for the both men’s and women’s spring collections.
According to the trend forecaster and color expert, the expanded palette takes into consideration a noticed consumer desire for more variety and experimentation with color and less structured fashion guidelines.
A recognized interest in freedom and exploration is a thread running through the Spring 2018 palette, with this season’s colors refusing to follow outdated rules, and embracing challenge to the status quo. From the earthy Chili Oil (PANTONE 18-1440), to the oceanic Arcadia (PANTONE 16-5533), this striking palette aims to inspire bold, imaginative fashion choices.
The four classic hues making their debut, such as Coconut Milk (PANTONE 11-0608) and Warm Sand (PANTONE 15-1214), symbolize the mainstay of any wardrobe.
Just in time for New York Fashion Week, the report was released: PANTONE® Fashion Color Trend Report Spring 2018.
