La-Roche-Posay is the skin care brand that grew one pharmacy at a time. Best known for its sensitive skin solutions, the L’Oréal-owned company (is rolling out new products just in time for cooler weather. It hosted a preview for beauty editors on Oct. 28 online.
Dr. Angela Lamb, associate professor dermatology, Kahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York and consultant to The Today Show, was the expert guest to introduce the new products at the Zoom event.
The rollouts target dry skin with a focus on eczema, said Dr. Lamb.
"The Lipikar collection has been very helpful to my patients,” she said. “What I love about the line is that you are set up for success with these new products. They offer balance and keep the moisture from evaporating off.”
Dr. Lamb added that over cleansing can impact the microbiome, and Lipikar products can help. She is especially excited about the Lipikar Wash AP+ body wash that contains niacinamide, glycerin, the brand’s prebiotic thermal water and shea butter. It is accepted by the National Eczema Association. Follow it up with the Lipikar Body Balm AP+ for moisture, she added.
Products that target dry skin and eczema should contain proper humectants, occlusive agents, barrier repair ingredients or prebiotics, said Dr. Lamb.
Also new from La Roche-Posay is Cicaplast Hand Cream. Products will be sold in assorted locations spanning from Ulta to Target in early 2021.
