Long-standing hair appliances company Conair Corporation, has been acquired by affiliates of American Securities LLC. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Stamford, CT, Conair's brands Babylissas well as accessories brand Scunci; the firm also sells skin care brushes, light therapy tools, hair removal devices and oral care appliances as well as small kitchen appliances under the Cuisinart and Warning banners. The firm was founded in 1959 by Leandro Rizzuto. Today, Conair products can be found in 120 countries across six continents.
Certain members of the Rizzuto family will retain a minority ownership in Conair.
