Moon Juice has launched two new sustainability initiatives that demonstrate the company’s commitment to taking conscious actions in pursuit of continual progress, said the indie wellness brand.
Vitamin Refills in Biodegradable Packaging
Moon Juice now offers a one-month refill supply of vitamins in 100% biodegradable packaging for SuperYou, SuperHair, and SuperBeauty, — and SuperPower coming later this year. The refillable bags’ outer layer is Kraft paper and the lining is made of PLA, which is a plant-based plastic alternative derived from non-GMO corn. Moon Juice’s PLA comes from the only greenhouse-neutral manufacturing site of its kind in the world, in Nebraska, USA.
The one-month supply of refills of SuperYou will cost $49; SuperHair, $60; and SuperBeauty, $60. The brand says it will work to drop prices as compostable packaging becomes more commonplace. Moon Juice created these refill packs with subscription customers in mind so all subscribers receive 10% off each order + free shipping. Moon Juice’s refill packs can be placed into green waste bins or a backyard composting system.
Beyond Green Lids
Later in 2021, Moon Juice’s “Supers” glass bottles will transition to Beyond Green lids. Instead of virgin plastic, these lids are made from a corn-based resin (PLA) and will fully break down in an industrial compost after 6 months, or your backyard compost after 1 year. Sourced from the only ‘greenhouse’ neutral manufacturing site of its kind in Nebraska.
