Anecdote Candles has partnered with haircare company Prose on candle with a cause that celebrate black beauty and wellness. Launching today, Feb.1, two candles will be available only for the month of February and sold exclusively at anecdotecandles.com.
Anecdote Candles will donate $5 for each product purchased to the Loveland Foundation, with a minimum donation of $5,000. Prose has also committed to donate a base of $10,000 to Loveland.
The Loveland Foundation was established in 2018 by Rachel Cargle in response to her successful birthday wish fundraiser—Therapy for Black Women and Girls. Her enthusiastic social media community raised more than $250,000, which made it possible for Black women and girls nationally to receive therapy support. The Loveland Foundation is the official continuation of her effort to bring opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls.
The candles are:
• Good Hair Day / Rosemary & Cassis ($26), which pays tribute to the magic of a good hair day, according to Prose. A fresh medley of cassis, bergamot, and rosemary captures the invigorating feeling of the perfect hairdo, while base notes of amber and clove bring balance and fortitude to this exhilarating aroma.
• Individualism / Nectar Petals & White Jasmine ($26). This candle is described as an unexpected pairing of soft florals and zesty citruses. Notes include white jasmine, freesia, mandarin, vanilla and honeycomb.
The Candle with a Cause Duo includes both for $48.
Founded in 2017, Prose is a DTC beauty-tech brand known for creating custom, made-to-order hair products through machine learning technology. The company is Climate Neutral, a Public Benefit Corporation as well as a Certified B Corporation.
